Chexxo - A Browser Extension That Allows Users to See the Certificate Quality of Websites
Chexxo is a browser extension that allows users to see the certificate quality of websites. The purpose of this tool is to help users to decide whether the website they're going to visit is trustworthy or not. In order to achieve this, we take the URL that the user is going to visit and analyze the certificate that is associated with that URL.
We differentiate between the three quality classes defined by the CA/Browser Forum which are "domain validated", "organization validated" and "extended validated". If the quality of a website's certificate degrades, we will block the domain and show a warning. This behavior may be deactivated in the extension settings.
We take into consideration several factors when evaluating the certificates.
